Divided by Redline

The person that I had the questions for didn’t respond but my audio will be recorded down below.

Clean water game

This week we learned about Redlining.. Redlining is the practice of denying services, either directly or through selectively raising prices, to residents of certain areas based on the racial or ethnic composition of those areas.

What I choose to observe through my redlining observation was the phone company that has cell towers available in my area . It really puzzles me how these type of things really goes on and how people allow it to happen. I can not believe that in this day and age that people are able to  deny people service because of where they decide to live. They do it in such a conniving way that people may not even know it. It make you thin will  really succeed in this world because of the color of my color, the cloths on my back and where I decide to lay my head whether if it’s my choice or not.   Cell Tower

People can only understand redlining if it’s introduce and explain to them because I didn’t know about it to my Professor taught me about…What redoing actually look like Redlining-5748ef623df78ccee1c809d2

This can be a game board because you can bye dice cubes. Shake them up and throw them across the surface and where ever you land will be the cell company that will be your providing. No matter  where you live and what you like you will have to deal with that cell phone company wherever your dice land. People will switch providers for the moment to see how it is to be under different companies like T-mobile, Version, AT&T, Simply Mobile and Sprint…GOOD LUCK!

The game I choose to play was Pac Man which is an Arcade game

This game was published in 1983

Theme ~ Arcade

Pac-Man is the type of game that you have to practice to win.

I was having a very hard time playing this game on my computer because I couldn’t maneuver as much as I could have if I was in a Arcade or playing it on a game console. The pac man was moving very slow and I was easily getting caught by the moving ghost.

Instruction of the game

The player navigates Pac-Man through a maze containing various dots, known as Pac-Dots, and four multi-colored ghosts: Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde. The goal of the game is to accumulate points by eating all the Pac-Dots in the maze, completing that ‘stage’ of the game and starting the next stage and maze of Pac-dots. Between some stages, one of three intermission animations plays. The four ghosts roam the maze, trying to kill Pac-Man. If any of the ghosts hit Pac-Man, he loses a life; when all lives have been lost, the game is over. Pac-Man is awarded a single bonus life at 10,000 points by default—DIP switches inside the machine can change the required points to 15,000 or 20,000, or disable the bonus life altogether. The number of lives can be set to 1 life only or up to five lives maximum. High score cannot exceed 999,990 points; players may exceed that score, but the game keeps the last 6 digits. There are 256 levels in total, however, when the game was made, the memory ran out at 256, so it is only half loaded while the other half is a jumble of letters and digits.

The backstory to Pac Man

Pac-Man was one of the first games developed by this new department within Namco. The game was developed primarily by a young employee named Toru Iwatani over the course of 1 year, beginning in April 1979, employing a nine-man team. It was based on the concept of eating, and the original Japanese title is Pakkuman (パックマン), inspired by the Japanese onomatopoeic phrase paku-paku taberu (パクパク食べる),[40][41] where paku-paku describes (the sound of) the mouth movement when widely opened and then closed in succession

Iwatani has repeatedly stated that the character’s shape was inspired by a pizza missing a slice,[10] he admitted in a 1986 interview that this was a half-truth and the character design also came from simplifying and rounding out the Kanji character for mouth, kuchi ().[44] Iwatani attempted to appeal to a wider audience—beyond the typical demographics of young boys and teenagers. His intention was to attract girls to arcades because he found there were very few games that were played by women at the time.[45] This led him to add elements of a maze, as well as cute ghost-like enemy characters. Eating to gain power, Iwatani has said, was a concept he borrowed from Popeye.[46] The result was a game he named Puck Man[47] as a reference to the main character’s hockey puck shape.[48] Later in 1980, the game was picked up for manufacture in the United States by Bally division Midway,[44] which changed the game’s name from Puck Man to Pac-Man in an effort to avoid vandalism from people changing the letter ‘P’ into an ‘F’ to form the word fuck.[47][48][49] The cabinet artwork was also changed and the pace and level of difficulty increased to appeal to western audiences.[47

Game Wars

I am not a gamer however,  I love to play games via play board though if I had to choose a way I like to enjoy them. In my lifetime I have played many games but not to many on my phone.  I am more of a hands on person when it comes to games. I love many board games like trouble , connect 4 and Scattergories. When I was a little girl my favorite games system were Nintendo and on that system I loved to play Donkey Kong, Crash Band Bandicoot and Super Mario brothers. I absolutely adore these games more than any other game I’ve came across even still to this day.

My favorite board games and its goal

scatter alchy.jpgScatteriogories

Each game of Scattergories consists of three rounds. Before the start of the game, choose three lists which will be used during the rounds.

Pass each player a folder, and clip the three lists inside in the order in which they will be played. Make sure that all players have A) the same lists, and that B) the lists are in the same order.

Begin each round by rolling the letter die, and start the timer. If you roll a letter that had already been rolled during this game, re-roll.

Players attempt to create an answer that begins with the letter on the die for each of the categories on their list.

Answers must begin with the letter on the Scattergories dice

Players take turns reading their lists. Cross out any answers that matched another player’s. Players score one point for each answer not crossed out.

Creative answers are allowed, but any player has the option of challenging an answer. If an answer is challenged, all players, including the player whose answer is being challenged, vote on the acceptability. Majority rules. In the event of a tie, the vote of the challenged player does not count.

The player with the highest score wins the game. In the event of a tie, the tied players play a tie-breaker round.

connect 4Connect 4

To win Connect Four you must be the first player to get four of your colored checkers in a row either horizontally, vertically or diagonally.

Trouble is a simple game for 2-4 players that requires a specialized board containing a pop-die roller (called POP-O-MATIC). According to Trouble game rules, the goal of the game is to be the first player to move all four of your pieces from “Home” to “Finish.”

Game Play

Chose a color, and place all four of your colored pieces in your “Home” spot. Roll the die (this involves pressing the dome of the pop-die roller, causing the die to jump and roll) to determine which player goes first. The player with the highest roll goes first and play proceeds clockwise (to the left).

These Nintendo video game were very interesting because each level was fun and I was very excited to get to the next level.

Super Mario Brothers super mario brothers

My approach on game play sucked. When we first started to communicate about games , I couldn’t think of not one because I am not a game player. Once everyone started to name their games things started to come back to mind when I did play games. Most of the games people were naming I was clueless about.

Gifts or GiPhy

Daughter’s Audition 200w_d

This was when my daughter was six years old, we went to a audition to be on the  Disney Channel..These are a few pictures from when we were there. Before, between and after photos

I am having a very hard time trying to put memes and gif together that I just want to give up. Can anyone shed some light on how to do so. I missed one week of class and feel like I missed a few more because I am having such a hard time with  GIF.. Meme was fun and easy to create but GIF are very complicated. I am willing to redo my blog when I get more information on how to do it..

I see that GIFTs or GIphy can be very fun and entertaining when you don’t have to make them yourself. I rather just enjoy them than to make them.

Selfie Queenin Time!

A selfie (/sɛlf/)[1] is a self-portrait photograph, typically taken with a smartphone which may be held in the hand or supported by a selfie stick. Selfies are often shared on social networking services such as Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. They are for vanity usually flattering and made to appear casual. “Selfie” typically refers to self-portrait photos taken with the camera held at arm’s length or pointed at a mirror, as opposed to those taken by using a self-timer or remote. Selfie Run Down

Futhermore, I want to introduce you to a google and culture app that we used during this weeks class. It’s a app that will match your selfie with someone else but in art work form. The app is not always accurate but it’s fun to see what they come up with. It’s matches you with people that have very popular work.  Also, if you do didn’t poses or take your image from a different angle you will get different results. I will show you what a few of mine look like so that you can get a clear idea of what I’m talking about. You can also download it from any app store. The app is called Google Arts&Culture.

From the apple store you can click the link below

The images that match my selfie with art selfies from Arts&Culture,

These last two images is shot from a different angle which gave me different results

Selfies are images that we take of ourselves and they are apart of the present time and of the future. I only see them getting more creative as time pass and as technology grow. Technology has introduce us to a world of new ways to play with ours selfies. We can add filters, animal faces, food faces, add different colors to them, just to name a few. I love selfies, they are very fun to take and to play around with. I have over 256 of them in one folder called SELFIES. In class we talked about how selfies make us feel, why we take selfies, what’s the purpose behind them and why do captions on selfies may portray as someone else. As I can only speak of myself, taking selfies can be a way of life LOL.

I take SELFIES when

  • I’m bored,
  • when I’m not bored
  • When I’m out at an event with friends
  • When I want to capture my face with makeup
  • When I’m having fun
  • When I feel like this is a cute moment to take one
  • When I’m happy, in a playful mode

I just loved them, they are an in the moment type of image. I’m just always ready to take one. Down below you will find many selfies of myself. So lets go on a SELFIE tour with me.

Memes Happened

Memes are awesome visuals to use and a great way to express yourself. It’s more fulfilling then using words and they are a great way to get your point across rather thing using a plain image then adding a caption to it.What makes meme so popular is the fact that people across the world can relate to them. We relate to the meme because we’ve came across that very image that came from our favorite and popular tv shows, movie or from our culture. We understand what that meme is saying without it saying the very exact thing it once originally said. We can simply relate to meme and it gives you a greater laugh then a boring post which is the reason why their so popular.

  • I defiantly think meme are a form of digital art because you use technology to create them. You can take a look at a few meme that I love which are digitally made.

  • Netnarr was a pain in my neck but I’m growing to love it so when I hear people complain about it, I want to give them this type of reaction. You should use Netnarr more often

Nosedive was a very intresting episode to watch. It makes you look at social media and life in a new way. It shows you how, catch up in the world we can be with the likes and comments that we receive from others. It shows you how technology and social media plays into people daily life. I also think social media and technology is taking up a huge part of people time within a day.  People don’t know who their are beyond social media. I think they only have the self esteem that they do because of the likes and love that they receive from these sites; I.e Instagram , Facebook, twitter and snapchat just to name a few. This sites can be validating to some, promotion worthy for some, branding for others. I guess it depends on how you use it but that’s my general opinion what nosedive showed me and what reality is in this present time. 4.8 Please~~~~Nosedive Meme

One of my favorite meme. You can be anything in the world but out of all things to be your rather be SALTY (bitter). HAHAHA

My Perception

Class was very interesting this week, digital art was the main focus so I decided to come home and find some digital art images and get a clear understanding what digital art really is.

Digital art~ is an artistic work or practice that uses digital technology as an essential part of the creative or presentation process.

alchemy 2Rise above it

In a world where they expect women to drown we fix our crowns and rising above the unexpected.

Down below you will find pictures of my own digital art that I created or ones that I found online.

This picture was inspired by our twitter safari that we had to do in class as an netnarr activity. We had to take a picture of something from an unusual angle. This is my daughter’s car from an unusual angle.  #digitalart affordable for my child but not unaffordable for me. Yea, life is great!!!

Twitter safari where we had to take a picture of tracks of another person’s. My story would be, not to follow my tracks but to create your own in hopes that you can help someone else create theirs. #digitalart Tracks of another person

Twitter safari of a single color shot. This picture communicates freedom to me, it reminds me of the ocean. It makes me feel alive and brings a sense of happiness to my being. #aqua

Being a digital alchemist is helping me connect with the digital world in a way that I’ve never experience before. I am learning about what “digital” means in all aspect, from looking at digital images, creating digital media and looking at others digital work. I had to define what digital was even though I knew what it was, just to have a better understanding of what it means to be digital. I’m being introduce to new digital apps and digital sites that is contributing to me being a digital alchemist. As the weeks go by I’m am getting a little more better as what is means to be a digital alchemist.  Anybody wants to welcome me to RELIEF  “LOLrelief
